Prayer

Unity Church of Truth (1913)
108 years of service in Toronto!

“One of Myrtle Fillmore’s earliest acts of healing was that of a little boy whose eyes were completely glazed with cataracts. “It is not God’s will that any of His children should not see,” said Myrtle Fillmore with utter faith. She prayed for the restoration of the child’s perfect vision, and the prayer was answered. Many healings of defective vision, both physical and spiritual, are recorded in the files of Silent Unity…”

The Presence of God watches over us
Wherever we are, God is

BLESSING OF GRATITUDE
“Divine Love, expressed through me, blesses and multiplies all that I have, all that I give, and all that I receive.`Thank you, God!`

The Prayer of Faith By Hannah More Kohaus
God is my help in every need;
God does my every hunger feed;
God walks beside me, guides my way
Through every moment of the day.

I now am wise, I now am true,
Patient, kind, and loving too.
All things I am, can do, and be,
Through Christ, the Truth that is in me.

God is my health, I can’t be sick;
God is my strength, unfailing, quick;
God is my all, I know no fear,
Since God and love and Truth are here.

I am now
in the Presence of Pure Being
and immersed in the Holy Spirit
of Life, Love and Wisdom

“Spirit Led and Spirit Fed” By Deborah A Ducharme
My heart, mind, body and soul are Spirit Led.
Thy will be done.
God is my resource and I am Spirit Fed.
Thy will be done.
I am expanding in my capacity to receive and express my Divine inheritance
–humanly, as well as divinely.
Thy will be done.

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done,
On earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
And leave us not in temptation
But deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever, A-MEN

Let Us Pray, Live and Be By Deborah A.Ducharme

“My Prayer is ‘without ceasing’. And, as Charles Fillmore said “Step forth with a mighty Faith to do the things that ought to be done by you”. I truly believe that we are in a ‘partnership’ with God and I am always looking and listening for ways to do my part. My growing edge is to invite others to walk with me while doing the work that is meant to be done. I do not know where God is leading or guiding us, but, I continue to practice keeping an open heart and mind to all possibilities, so, that I can find God’s way, as He unveils His plan. For me, it’s about being in the realm of ‘I don’t know’ and in the ‘void’ and a co-Creative process. I bring forth everything in me; my knowledge to date, wisdom, understandings, commitment and my total willingness to be humanly present to the situation at hand while God in me, people, places, situations and things illumines His answer. I make myself His instrument.
I have learned not to get excited or become attached to what may appear to be the answer along the way, because God sometimes takes me down paths only to reveal something to me that has nothing to do about the path that I’ve been on, but, rather is a reward for following Him obediently and trustingly. He knows what I need and keeps me safe and I know that I am loved. I know God to have a sense of humour, and sometimes He keeps me busy with ‘projects’ because I can be impatient waiting. Haha! ‘Divine Order prevails’ is proven time and time again to me in these walks with our Holy Father. Things happen when it is His time for things to happen. Thank you God!”

*Prayer is a form of spiritual communication: our highest kind of communication.

*Prayer can include asking, releasing, waiting, affirming, accepting, picturing, listening and appreciating.

*In prayer we seek to align or harmonize our mind, heart and being with divine ideas, energies, intelligence and goodness.

*The moment we experience total union with the divine, the act of prayer is complete and we need only say, “Thank you”.

Our challenge in a time of prayer is to rise above the clamor produced by personal fears, doubts, confusion, disbelief and our unwillingness to move forward.

God’s will for us is always good.

God’s will never includes pain, illness, suffering, distress or punishment. Do not beg, bargain or beseech. Humble yourself but do not humiliate yourself. You are God’s child. You are loved and cherished by God.

Remember that God’s will for you (and those for whom you pray) is always for health, prosperity, freedom, protection, supply, support, harmony, wisdom and joy.

The most effective prayers are often the simplest. Basic affirmative statements are highly effective.

Examples include
God’s Spirit within is healing me now.
Divine order prevails.
God is my constant and loving source of good.
I am in God’s protective presence and I am safe.
God is mightier than circumstances – I am being guided.

Unity’s Prayer History

Unity has long emphasized the form of prayer termed “entering the silence” (Melton:1017) which starts as a form of quiet inwardness. Charles Fillmore said: “Set aside a time every day…and pray whether you believe or not…If you will persistently find Truth, even though you do not believe it at first, you will find that your prayers have power. Faith is like a mustard seed, and it will grow. Pray, pray, and keep praying; affirm, and yet affirm once more. Your persistent prayers will succeed (Fillmore: 85).”

“In the daily routine of work and in the transaction of all its affairs Unity practices regularly the habit of prayer and its prayers have always been answered so as to meet its vital needs.” The History of Unity’s Fifty Golden Years – Author: Dana Gatlin – 1939

Learn, grow, love, heal, laugh and pray…

Life is meant to be good!”
